My bro and me...
This is the rare Massassauga Rattle Snake - the only deadly snake in Ontario.
And the bear who was at our campsite when our canoe pulled in...do they what in the forest?
The most beautiful woman on the planet...and, suprisingly, me.
Hi Isle of Nod blog lovers - both of y0u.
Well, I finished the school year with many fine human beings enduring my classes. The new units I introduced throughout a personally busy year were fun - a new novel, a new blogging course component. I'm sure more people at work would have noticed if I had farted at a staff meeting, but I do it for the students, not the mostly lame adults I'm forced to work with. Still, if I was paid on a scale as some dick-heads in the states want to introduce, I think I made my wage, even with 'stuff' going on.
Okay, 'Stuff'. If you're reading this you know me and very likely you know Stacey, my dream girl, is fighting some stuff. She is my hero and is doing well, though. We are hoping for a break in treatments at the end of December to get away to some exotic local.
Anyway, back to the update.
Music: I'm still playing every other week with Kevin Coates up here in KW. We do other gigs occasionally. Gavin Knight and the Rhythm
Resurgence is getting close to twice a month gigging. Just finished the studio demo which is an R&B masterpiece - covers but amazing.

The Charity Brown CD is almost completed and I played some silky sax on one of the tunes there - bass on most of the other tracks.
Rik Emmitt and I talked on the phone about the stuff I did on his future album and I was a dizzy school boy again, feeling that Magic Power.
Writing: I have a short memoir piece coming out in Scouting Life next month. It's about my dad, whose health is not the greatest right now, but he is a giant walking among us. This meagre piece is a snapshot of our lives intersecting. The novel continues to percolate - maybe next summer... More short stories to come...
Overall, life is good, but the summer is too short. It seems I've spent most of it at the cottage or on the canoe trip my brother Dave and I took.
